Scar Removal Creams
One of the most common ways to treat scars is by using a scar removal cream. These are over the counter products used to help fade scars. While many of them are ineffective, there are some products that have delivered positive results to users. A scar removal cream is a good alternative to medical procedures like surgical scar removal, dermabrasion, and laser treatments. These treatments are very expensive and can have bad effects on some people. Many times the results are just as bad as when you started.
For those who don’t want to spend the money or take the risk of a medical procedure, scar removal creams are a great option. Unfortunately, many of these products are just expensive moisturizers that do not really do much at all to treat scars. Scar creams tend to be fairly costly. You’ll find products like Mederma selling for over $20 dollars for a small tube. They are also very experimental in most cases. Try to avoid products that use Vitamin E, onion bulb extract, or moisturizers as the main ingredients. These are all common remedies that can be purchased separately for much less, plus they are not proven to work in medical trials.

These products work best if the scar has been primed with a chemical peel or dermabrasion to remove the top layers of scar tissue. Repeat this process and use the products for as long as needed until you see fading. The trick with scar treatment is persistence. It takes time, but you will see results over the long term.
